Can I use KJ Clipper without reading the documentation?

Yes. The status bar at the bottom of the KJ Clipper window lists the actions that are available while using any tool in KJ Clipper.

While clipping, can I override the automatic edge detector and manually go in another direction?

Yes. Clicking the right mouse button (or pressing the Shift key) overrides the edge detector and allows straight clipping in any chosen direction. Click the right mouse again to toggle the automatic edge detector back on.

When I clip out an object and copy/paste it into another application, it shows a black background. Can I make it white?

Yes. There are three ways to make an object's background white. If the other application that you are pasting it in supports picking a transparency color, use it to make the black background transparent. Alternatively, while in kjClipper, the object can be moved to a white portion of the canvas (or pasted in a new blank window). Then the rectangular select tool can be used to surround the object with a white background. Copy and paste this object with white background into a new application. Finally, you can save the selected object to the GIF file format.  We write with transparency to GIF, and any application that honors GIF transparency should be able to read the image with transparency.
